The view of the graphic interface does not really help me; the MIDI setup screen, if there is one, would be helpful. The Motif ES can transmit on any single Midi channel. Advantage and Conclusion The Studio Connection: It is at the root of your confusion – or at least I think it is. If you are only recording MIDI you do not need an audio interface in which case you can skip this step.

I think I need to perform a little more detective work to more precisely determine exactly what are the setting on Motif and VST when I get the held notes, then experiment a bit.
Last edited by logic8mine on Fri Feb 22, Hi Motif8mine, First off, thanks for the quick and thorough reply. It is a regular USB cable…. If not, solo the source “trigger note” track 16 and see if the random notes stop In other words they don’t play independently, they wait to play along with the notes I recorded on track 16 when I hit playback ez8.
This will be your own personal preference. First off, thanks for the quick and thorough reply. It will do the same thing when I create a New Project.
Everything other track is left OFF.
USB Flash Drive Size Limitation
Can someone guide me on this please. And since the ES has multiple channels of data this might be the cause.
Because the arpeggiator does not record notes, againit is real time only. Ive read this sentence ten times and don’t know what you are trying to tell me. Fri Feb 22, 7: When you are restoring a previously saved Cubase Project you will want the Editor to send your saved data back to the Motif XF.
This is pretty cool…. Again the Motif Arpeggiator cannot record e8s notes. Again I have no experience with your particular VST and I’m not exactly clear on how you are using it.

If you are only recording MIDI you do not need an audio interface in which case you can skip this step. You may only be holding down a C minor 7 chord as a whole note, meanwhile all this fabulous strumming and note picking is going on.
Forgive me but I have no experience with this VST “Strum” – and what it is or how it works or how you are using it. This is not semantics So break it down for me: Once you create a user profile on Motifator and update motfi the appropriate information, the updates shown here will be specific to you.
Fri Feb 22, And you have an arpeggio set to play, if this is the case any external device will not be able to tell the difference between the arpeggio generated notes and the trigger notes recorded to the track.
I don’t think that Cubase is involved in my held note problem because I have experienced held notes using the VST standalone connected directly to the Motif, through my laptop with no DAW running. The first experiment will be to solo the trigger note track 16 as you suggested The Sequencer can record notes. By default, these two settings are and I have left them enabled. Try using only port 1.

Old Motifator threads are available in the Archive. Hope you can solve this mystery for me. When you say you “start the arpeggio to play a section” – know this:
